About Us
A Message From our Pastor
Greetings in the name of Jesus Christ!
For those of you who have not met me, my name is Victor St. George, and as of May 1, 2009, I am the pastor at Faith Lutheran Church. I am excited to be here, and impressed with the congregation. Your willingness to support the ministries of the church with your time and resources is a model of Christian behavior.
I would like to ask you to do something for me. If you find yourself in a crisis or an emergency, please contact me to let me know. I am available through the office at the church, and I also welcome people to call me at home [(715)689-3991]. If I am not available at those numbers, you can contact Sheila, and she can contact me through my cell phone.
There is another method of contact that might be useful. I recently purchased a Blackberry, and I can receive e-mails as soon as the system allows. I checked it out today and received the email in less than a minute. So if you have access to the internet you can get to me by email at pastorstgeorge@gmail.com. I will respond (by phone if you leave your number) as soon as possible.
I want to stress that I am available seven days a week, twenty-four hours a day for emergencies. I will be taking Fridays off, but every pastor knows that days off are always going to need to be flexible. What I am trying to say is that if something happens, whatever the time and whatever the circumstances, I would like you to contact me if I can be of any service to you at all. It’s one of the big reasons I am here in the first place.
Also, if you or a loved one is hospitalized, please notify me or personally or leave the information at the office. I think it’s important to visit and pray with those who are ill or injured, and the best way to insure I’m able to do that is to let me know about it as soon as possible. (A quick story: While in Dubuque, the hospitals would notify local pastors if a member of the
congregation were hospitalized, as long as the person who was in the hospital requested it. So I got a call one Thursday afternoon letting me know that a certain young woman was in Finley Hospital, dropped everything and rushed up there to see her. Turns out that she had been admitted the previous Thursday and discharged on Tuesday. She was a little miffed that
I hadn’t visited her until she heard what had happened.)
I look forward to getting to know you and doing many years of meaningful ministry with you in the future.
God bless you,
Pastor Victor
